Are you an Alphateer?

Alphateer is a non profit organization dedicated to support volunteers around the world connecting and developing entrepreneurial ways to find solutions to their needs.  Since 2010, Alphateer has been serving the startup community in the San Francisco Bay Area to improve mentorship, funding and resource opportunities for social entrepreneurs.  Technology advances have dramatically increased the options available to volunteers and non profits, but often the skill sets to adequately use Facebook, Twitter, Google for an organization are lacking.  Alphateer's mission is to increase the effectiveness of volunteer efforts by harnessing the power of social media, big data, internet and mobile to multiply its reach.

Primary among these efforts has been the organization of the Rajeev Circle mentorship group http://www.rajeevcircle.org/ dedicated to the memory of Rajeev Motwani's mentorship of young entrepreneurs.  Rajeev Circle has grown into an active 500 member group that has supported dozens of companies and organizations and mentored hundreds of entrepreneurs in the use of technology and the internet to further their goals.

Friends of the Lurdes Mutola Foundation is a non profit supporting secondary education of young women in Mozambique: http://www.youngmindsofafrica.org  As a direct result of Alphateer's support, the organization also known as FLMF was able to expand its board, receive substantial fundraising support and strategy, as well as website design.

Likewise, StartX, a Stanford centered educational nonprofit http://startx.stanford.edu/ centered around entrepreneurship has been able to provide over 50 mentors to numerous companies in the last 3 years, thanks to collaborations springing out of the Rajeev Circle, through Alphateer cofounder Jan Jannink's coordination.

in 2012, a new theater production by cofounder John Binkley, Presidential Suite, http://www.facebook.com/PresidentialSuite has highlighted the asymmetry and abuse of power in the courtroom as well as in the bedroom.

Please contact us at admin@alphateer.org if you are interested in alphateerism, either as a recipient or as a participant.  We will add you to our alpha exchange group, and keep you posted of developments.  Please visit our Alpha Exchange site to post your experiences and activity, your needs and resources.  We look forward to your involvement in the effort!
